Our Commitment
CollegeRoster is a platform built for student athletes, families, and coaches. We are committed to maintaining a safe, professional, and respectful environment for all users -- especially the minors who use our platform. Every piece of content uploaded to CollegeRoster must meet the standards outlined below.
Content Standards
All content uploaded to CollegeRoster -- including profile photos, highlight videos, stats, and communications -- must comply with the following:
Allowed Content
- Athletic photos and videos (game highlights, training, practice)
- Professional headshots and team photos
- Academic achievements and awards
- Accurate athletic statistics and records
- Professional communications with coaches
Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal:
- Sexual or explicit material: Any sexually suggestive, explicit, or pornographic content. This includes images or videos depicting nudity, partial nudity, or sexually suggestive poses.
- Inappropriate depictions of minors: Any content that exploits, endangers, or inappropriately depicts a minor. CollegeRoster has a zero-tolerance policy for child exploitation material and will report violations to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement as required by federal law.
- Violence or threats: Content depicting graphic violence, threats of harm, or intimidation directed at any person.
- Harassment or bullying: Content that targets, demeans, or harasses another person based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- False or misleading information: Fabricated statistics, falsified academic records, misrepresented athletic achievements, or impersonation of another athlete or coach.
- Illegal activity: Content depicting, promoting, or facilitating illegal activity, including drug use, underage drinking, or violations of NCAA/NAIA eligibility rules.
- Spam or commercial solicitation: Unsolicited advertising, spam, or commercial solicitation unrelated to athletic recruiting.
- Copyright infringement: Content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others (see our DMCA Policy).
Content Moderation
CollegeRoster actively moderates uploaded content to enforce these standards:
- Minor athletes: All uploaded media from minor athletes (under 18) receives mandatory human review before publication.
- Adult athletes: Uploaded media is subject to automated screening and random human review.
- User reports: Any user can report content they believe violates these standards. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.
Enforcement
When content is found to violate these standards, we will:
- Remove the content and update its moderation status in our system.
- Notify the account owner via email, identifying the specific standard violated and linking to this Code of Conduct.
- Log the action in our audit trail for accountability and transparency.
Repeated or severe violations may result in account suspension or permanent termination. Content involving the exploitation of minors will be reported to NCMEC and law enforcement immediately, without prior notice to the account holder.
Reporting Violations
If you see content on CollegeRoster that you believe violates this Code of Conduct, please report it using the in-app reporting tool or email safety@collegeroster.org.
For concerns involving the safety of a minor, contact us immediately at safety@collegeroster.org. We treat all reports involving minors with the highest priority.
Appeals
If you believe your content was removed in error, you may appeal by replying to the notification email or contacting support@collegeroster.org. Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator than the one who made the original decision. We aim to resolve appeals within 5 business days.
